Natural Heritage Books, A Member of The Dundurn Group, Toronto, is committed to publishing quality non-fiction titles. This commitment is directed to the publication of Canadian stories: our history, heritage; our need to better understand our natural world; our environment. We take pride in a growing list of important books related to genealogy and emigration, as well as canoeing and wilderness travel. Natural Heritage encourages new authors, providing them with an opportunity to initiate a career. In addition, there is a commitment to being inclusive in the recognition of our history and heritage, ensuring that the voices and stories of our First Nations peoples, African-Canadians, and those of more recent Canadians are heard. On average, some sixteen titles are published annually. A few reprints per year reflect the popularity of particular titles. In February of 2007, we formally merged with the larger Dundurn Group, a respected Toronto-based press. The long-established Natural Heritage Books imprint continues to grow, with acquisitions and editorial work remaining the responsibility of Barry Penhale and Jane Gibson. |
